The Hino 358 is a new model for 2008. The 358 shares many of the same components as our 338 model and has been optimized for heavy duty service. The 23,000 lb. rear axle, optional 120,000 psi heavy duty frame with a driver-controlled locking differential make the 358 ideal for delivering heavy loads over unimproved roads where maximum frame strength and traction are required. Recommended applications for the 358 include: building materials delivery, tanker, dump, and refrigerated bodies. The 358 is powered by Hino’s most powerful engine: a 7.6 litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged diesel that develops 260 hp and 585 lb.ft. of torque. The 358 is available with either a standard 6-speed Eaton 6406A manual transmission or a heavy duty 5-speed Allison 3000 RDS automatic transmission with PTO capability.
