ENGINE & POWER TRAIN

ENGINE

The engine warranty covers the specific items listed in the table for three years and with unlimited kilometres. Engines of course require routine maintenance and service in order to keep your truck running at it’s peak efficiency. It is your responsibility as the owner to maintain the engine according to HINO’s maintenance recommendations. The cost of these maintenances are not covered by warranty nor is the cost of any parts required as part of any maintenance repair. Drive belts, hoses, lubricants, coolants and filters are all normal service items. The gradual reduction of performance and gradual wear of components due to use is not considered warrantable.

POWER TRAIN The power train warranty covers the specific items listed in the table for two years with unlimited kilometres. Hino Trucks may come equipped with other transmissions as options. The warranty for optional transmissions is covered by the specific manufacturer.

HINO STANDARD EQUIPMENT MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS are covered by the two year unlimited kilometre warranty.

ALLISON AUTOMATIC transmissions are not covered by HINO’s power train warranty but are covered by ALLISON. Each ALLISON AUTOMATIC transmission comes with a standard warranty of;

36 months unlimited kilometres for the AT 500 series transmission (1997 model year onwards)
24 months unlimited kilometres for the MT 600 series transmissions (1997 model year onwards)

ALLISON also offers an extended warranty (ETC) for an additional premium. Your HINO Sales consultant can help you with the details of their plan.

All repairs for ALLISON AUTOMATIC transmissions may only be performed by an authorized ALLISON agent who will also handle all of the warranty administration of warrantable repairs.

EATON FULLER transmissions are covered for; RT 8609 models - 36 months unlimited kilometres EATON FULLER transmission repairs must be performed by an authorized HINO dealer. The gradual reduction of performance due to wear including the replacement of clutches, hydraulic fluids, and lubricants are not warranty.
