Mars 29, 2012 - DUNDAS, ONTARIO - Hino of Hamilton took delivery of North America’s first-available. Hino crew cab this week. Dealership owner Bill Grisdale couldn’t be happier.

“We are excited to be the first to offer the new 195 Crew Cab,” said Grisdale. “Our customers asked for additional seating for years, so we were quick to get one ordered.

“We chose to make the truck ready for action right away. Our landscaping customers seem to want the extra passenger space the most, so we outfitted this truck with a beautiful aluminum dump box.”

Fèvrie 3, 2012 - Hino Motors, Ltd. of Japan announced the appointment of Mr. Shuichi Kaneko as the President of Hino Motors Canada, Ltd.

Mr. Kaneko succeeds Mr. Shin Nakamura who held the position for four years and has now been assigned to Asia.

dècembre 03, 2010 - WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Fuel mileage differences among medium-duty trucks could mean savings of more than $2,000 per truck per year, according to the J.D. Power and Associates.

Its 2010 U.S. Medium-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission Customer Satisfaction Study found that the cost difference between medium-duty truck engines with the highest fuel mileage and those with the lowest can be as high as 18 percent.

novembre 19, 2010 - WOODSTOCK, Ont. -- Hino Motors Canada has launched a new light duty truck into the Canadian market, aimed at trades such as light construction, courier services, landscaping, and service vehicles.

The new Model 198, with it 220 hp, six-cylinder diesel engine, was unveiled last week. Along with the new 198 Class 5 truck, Hino has updated and upgraded its Class 6 258LP and 268 models, and its Class 7 338 and 358 models.

The company formally introduced its 2011 Canadian models last week during an open house at its plant in Woodstock, Ont., where there's capacity to build 2000 trucks a year. It's presently assembling at the rate of 1000 annually but Shin Nakamura, president of Hino Motors Canada, is aiming for more. His target? A 30% market share in Canada, up from the present 20%.

Mai - Juin, 2011 - The 2011MY Hino Truck model 268 (25,950 lbs. GVW) significantly outperformed a key competitor in fuel efficiency in a recent independent real world test. The Hino averaged more than 19% percent better fuel economy than a comparably equipped 2011MY International Durastar during an independent SAE-type fuel test.

The SAE type III/TMC test was conducted by DWS Fleet Management, an independent testing company with extensive experience in fleet truck analysis and comparisons. The tests reflected real world conditions on Interstate-10 and RT 243 interchange in Ontario, California during mid December, 2010.

March, 2011 - NOVI, Mich. -- Hino Trucks (Novi, MI) unveiled a revolutionary addition to its product lineup during The Work Truck Show 2011 in Indianapolis. Hino will offer four models of the newly designed Class 4 and Class 5 cab over engine (COE) trucks. In the class 4 market, Hino will offer the 155 diesel model and the first ever U.S. class 4 diesel-electric hybrid model, the 155h. The 155 and 155h models will carry a 14,500 lb. GVW rating. In the class 5 market, Hino will offer the 195 diesel model and the first ever U.S. class 5 diesel-electric hybrid model, the 195h. The 195 and 195h models will carry a 19,500 lb. GVW rating.

March 14, 2011 -INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Hino's new cabover Classes 4-5 models 155 and 195 - and hybrid-electric versions of the same - were introduced amid much fanfare at the recent Work Truck Show.

For Hino, it marked the first time the truck maker has launched a new model outside of the Japanese market first. Hino unveiled the new models in grandiose fashion to dealers, customers and media during a special unveiling March 8.

November 17, 2010 - WOODSTOCK, Ont. -- Just how soft is the Canadian medium-duty truck market? Consider that Hino controls about 20% of the Canadian market and built just north of 1,100 units last year and you get the idea.

Still, the company is forging ahead with a new model and plenty of upgrades on its existing trucks in 2011. Hino held an open house at its Woodstock, Ont. assembly plant to show off its 2011 models, including the all-new light-duty Model 198. November 17, 2010 - Hino Motors Canada Ltd., held a 2011 launch open house at its facility in Woodstock, Ontario to introduce new truck models. Attendees were shown Hino’s 2011 models in a short video presentation, then they got to examine the class seven Model 358 truck, followed by a plant tour to witness how Hino products are built.

They listened to speeches by various speakers including Hino Canada President Shin Nakamura. Also, as part of the day, there were presentations by Hino suppliers. A Japan Parts Localization booth was in operation to recruit local suppliers.

November 14, 2010 - WOODSTOCK -- Hino officials unveiled their new line of medium-duty trucks on Friday built to comply with strict environmental standards.

"It's been modified to comply with new environmental regulations that are the strictest in the world," said Axel Breuer, vice-president of finance and administration of Hino Motors Canada. "The new technology eliminates virtually 100% of any soot and nitrous oxide which cause soot.
