Hino of Hamilton showing North America’s first available Hino crew cab; Six-passenger Hino 195 expands manufacturer’s impressive line-up

Mars 29, 2012 - DUNDAS, ONTARIO - Hino of Hamilton took delivery of North America’s first-available. Hino crew cab this week. Dealership owner Bill Grisdale couldn’t be happier.

“We are excited to be the first to offer the new 195 Crew Cab,” said Grisdale. “Our customers asked for additional seating for years, so we were quick to get one ordered.

“We chose to make the truck ready for action right away. Our landscaping customers seem to want the extra passenger space the most, so we outfitted this truck with a beautiful aluminum dump box.”

dècembre 03, 2010 - WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Fuel mileage differences among medium-duty trucks could mean savings of more than $2,000 per truck per year, according to the J.D. Power and Associates.

Its 2010 U.S. Medium-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission Customer Satisfaction Study found that the cost difference between medium-duty truck engines with the highest fuel mileage and those with the lowest can be as high as 18 percent.

novembre 19, 2010 - WOODSTOCK, Ont. -- Hino Motors Canada has launched a new light duty truck into the Canadian market, aimed at trades such as light construction, courier services, landscaping, and service vehicles.

The new Model 198, with it 220 hp, six-cylinder diesel engine, was unveiled last week. Along with the new 198 Class 5 truck, Hino has updated and upgraded its Class 6 258LP and 268 models, and its Class 7 338 and 358 models.

novembre 17, 2010 Vol. 6, No. 23 - Let's start with Hino this time out, which has dominated the class 5-8 markets in Japan for 37 straight years. Last year it sold 100,000 trucks, 60,000 of them for export. No small enterprise, this one, part of the Toyota Group.

The company formally introduced its 2011 Canadian models last week during an open house at its plant in Woodstock, Ont., where there's capacity to build 2000 trucks a year. It's presently assembling at the rate of 1000 annually but Shin Nakamura, president of Hino Motors Canada, is aiming for more. His target? A 30% market share in Canada, up from the present 20%.

octobre 28, 2011 - Quality and reliability are the most important aspect of overall customer satisfaction, and Hino and Cummins scored first and second, respectively, in J.D. Power and Associates' 2011 U.S. Medium-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission Customer Satisfaction Study released this week.

Hino Trucks' engines rank highest in customer satisfaction for a fourth consecutive year with a score of 794 on a 1,000-point scale, and perform particularly well in engine reliability and dependability and accessibility to components for service/ maintenance, the survey found. Cummins' score was 763.

Independent SAE-type test confirms Hino trucks 19.8% advantage in fuel efficiency

Mai - Juin, 2011 - The 2011MY Hino Truck model 268 (25,950 lbs. GVW) significantly outperformed a key competitor in fuel efficiency in a recent independent real world test. The Hino averaged more than 19% percent better fuel economy than a comparably equipped 2011MY International Durastar during an independent SAE-type fuel test.

The SAE type III/TMC test was conducted by DWS Fleet Management, an independent testing company with extensive experience in fleet truck analysis and comparisons. The tests reflected real world conditions on Interstate-10 and RT 243 interchange in Ontario, California during mid December, 2010.

November 14, 2010 - WOODSTOCK -- Hino officials unveiled their new line of medium-duty trucks on Friday built to comply with strict environmental standards.
