Assembly Manager

Position Job Title: Assembly Manager
Department: Assembly
Reports To: Sr. Operations Manager
Location: Woodstock, ON

This position supports the objectives of the Assembly and Modifications departments. Overall responsibility is to effectively lead the activities of the team to ensure all production and maintenance requirements are met.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Assembly department in daily activities Lead Assembly department in daily activities
  • Supervise, evaluate, and coach the team
  • Initiate and lead projects
  • Ensure plans are in place to meet objectives of the department
  • Support Kizan activities
  • Budgeting and cost control
  • Promote and support the cost reduction program
  • Production and Modifications

  • Facilitate Assistant Manager, Coordinator and Team Leader workflow management, to ensure facility and company goals are met
  • Work with all departments to coach and provide technical expertise to resolve issues, determine root cause and ensure countermeasures are implemented (quality, safety,
    production & cost)
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Lead efficiency improvements within the manufacturing process
  • Responsible for SWC’s, ensuring processes are followed and changes are effectively communicated
  • Assists in establishing and ensuring KPI’s in area of responsibility meet department objectives
  • Conduct appropriate process audits
  • Identify and implement training
  • Maintain Team Member adherence to company polices, safety standards, 5S practices and performance standards
  • Support the Assistant Manager in the overall development of the Assembly department
  • As a member of the management team, you may be required to perform other duties as required

REQUIRED

  • Manufacturing experience in assembly, auto experience considered an asset
  • Relevant experience working in a leadership role in a manufacturing facility
  • Demonstrated ability to understand corporate objectives including Health and Safety, Quality, Standardized Work, Kaizen, and 5S
  • Change management focused
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in an efficient and effective manner
  • Ability to compile data and communicate information clearly and concisely
  • Good overall administrative and coordination skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to communicate cross functionally, lead team meetings and one on one communications
  • Ability to use analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts
  • Ability to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner and adapt to changes quickly
  • Ability to create presentations and present to all levels of the organization

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Completed posted secondary education in a relate field of study required
  • 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Previous leadership experience required

          • The work schedule is subject to change by Hino Motors Canada Ltd as to meet its production needs. The current work schedule is Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Our industry may require employees to work more than their regularly scheduled workday hours and shifts from time to time as per Employment Standards Act, 2000 Section 17- “Hours of Work Agreement”.

            While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing environment, both factory and office settings. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
