The District Sales Manager (DSM) is a permanent, full- time, field-based position that works directly with our HINO dealer partners and customers to support the sale of new HINO brand commercial trucks within Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. The DSM provides ongoing dealer support to retain legacy customer accounts while working aggressively to acquire new customer conquest accounts. The DSM will be responsible for developing & implementing effective sales strategies to ensure customer contact, market growth and profitability metrics are achieved for HINO and the dealer network.
JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote the sale of HINO trucks through regularly scheduled in-person dealer & customer visits. Attend customer locations with dealer sales team members to provide required support
to close truck sale opportunities. - Responsible to create, develop & implement district sales plan including strategies for unit sale & market share growth.
- Responsible to coordinate truck sales with sales programs, implement policies and strengthen brand image within the dealer network. Able to gather all relevant transactional
information on key deals from dealer sales teams to provide strategic pricing or specification recommendations to support high success rate. - Create, develop & manage relationships between the company and retention of legacy HINO customers.
- Provide leadership to dealer sales team to develop strategic customer conquest account business activities & drive dealer interactions with conquest customers.
- Communicate with the dealer network on truck sales activities, inventory/order planning and wholesale of trucks to dealers.
- Provide HINO Total Support solutions to all customers.
- Provide detailed analysis of market trends, competition and active promotions.
- Ensure dealer sales teams are qualified & proficient in HINO truck sales competencies & capabilities to serve their market needs.
- Ensure dealer sales teams have access to and successfully complete all required product & sales training modules. Assist in training dealer team members in products, systems, and
processes. - Provide accurate and timely reporting on dealer sales activities, sales strategies and sales achievements to target including dealer visit reports and sales activity reports about
quoted/contracted deals, orders placed, and delivery schedules. - Be the voice of the customer with feedback to the company.
- Identify product requirements and sales opportunities within the assigned market area.
- Establish an effective support role with dealer management about performance goals, market development, sales programs and special events.
- Provide feedback and coaching on performance management of dealers while addressing and documenting noncompliant items.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum five years of sales and/or sales management experience within the commercial truck industry.
- Languages required: English / French.
- Ability to identify customer needs and provide good customer service.
- Ability to exercise initiative, good judgement and discretion in all matters.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership influencing, and negotiating skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with accuracy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid DZ / Class 3 license or provincial equivalent an asset.
- Valid G / Class 5 license or equivalent required.
- Frequent travel required, must have reliable vehicle
- Frequent travel required. Safe and reliable personal vehicle is required. The ideal candidate will reside in the Greater Montreal or Eastern Ontario area.
