Reporting to the VP, Parts Operations, the Parts Manager is responsible for operating a profitable and efficient parts department. The objective of the role will be to use proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, competitive parts pricing, excellent customer service, merchandising and advertising strategies to achieve targets and operational goals.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage parts operations, including purchasing, inventory control, parts marketing and administration
  • Manage inventory costs by continuously improving supplier/vendor relationships and by developing and implementing inventory control processes both internally and externally
  • Lead and manage a parts team and provide them the necessary tools to be successful
  • Manage data within SAP to ensure that all information is accurate and up to date
  • Follow up with Hino Motors Ltd (Japan) and all other vendors as needed regarding part information (pricing, promotions, etc.)
  • Liquidating non-moving inventory (via promotion or write-off)
  • Implementing and executing parts cost reduction programs
  • Creating, monitoring and updating dealer programs and parts marketing initiatives
  • Establishing parts stocking requirements for all dealer locations
  • Monitor and promote a safe working environment for all staff and visitors
  • Maintain Kaizen, 5S and 3M methodologies within the parts department

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management/Logistics, or similar (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially with Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative, good judgement and discretion in all matters
  • Ability to teach, coach, and train team members to drive change and execute process improvements
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize time-sensitive situations
  • Effective negotiation, delegation, team building, and communication skills
