Hino builds trucks in Canada, for Canadians, by Canadians.
Our Canadian production facility is located in Woodstock. We have a 132,000 square foot facility that is capable of producing over 3,000 trucks per year.
We are currently looking for Production Control Manager to join the Hino team.

OBJECTIVES

This position leads the Production Control team in converting sales requirements to production demand by ensuring schedules are completed and all components are ordered and delivered on time.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, evaluate, train and coach the team
  • Perform problem analysis when issues such as shortages, systems and schedule issues occur and come up with countermeasures to avoid recurrence
  • Production scheduling and planning in cooperation with Sales and Manufacturing
  • Initiate and lead projects including implementation of SAP
  • Implementation of operating standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Create SOP/Goshi task lists and follow up
  • Works closely with Hino Motors Japan and USA (HML, HMM)
  • Kaizen to improve the Department
  • Cost analysis
  • Budget setting
  • Sequencing production/preparation of pile chart
  • Scheduling modification requests
  • Work with the Sales and Logistics team in Mississauga
  • Work with all Departments in the Woodstock facility
  • BOM material creation
  • ECI handling
  • Parts order
  • Order follow up
  • Shortage/problem handling
  • Parts forecast
  • Parts master set up
  • Parts master update
  • Price updates
  • Process #/BIN # set up
  • Returnable handling (export)
  • Knock down kit receiving plan
  • Invoice check
  • Charge back
  • Inventory projection
  • HML data entry
  • PRF handling
  • Damaged/shortage HML parts order
  • Quality issue HML parts order
  • Custom clearance
  • Shipping damage handling
  • Late shipment handling
  • Return parts
  • Shipping arrangements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary educational institute in a related field
  • CAPICS certification preferred
  • Languages: English (native level) is required and Japanese (native level) is an asset
  • Experience working in a Production Control role in the automotive manufacturing industry
  • Ability to work accurately and pay close attention to details with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and planning with the ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions
  • Toyota Production System experience is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and independently
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to negotiate with customers
  • Ability to relate to individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and to work with them in a fair, supportive and cooperative manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel motor vehicles is an asset, but not required
